Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A fire broke out in a three-story building in Sitlamata Bazar on Sunday night and shortly afterwards, an LPG cylinder inside the building exploded.

Seeing the fire, two youths suspected that someone was trapped inside and rushed to help. One of them, named Rohit, sustained severe burns, while the other suffered minor injuries.

According to the police, the fire occurred at SiddhiVinayak Multi on Sunday night. There are shops on the ground floor of the building, while a watchman and his family live upstairs.

The watchman and his wife lit a lamp in the evening and came downstairs to go to the temple. It is suspected that a gas leak led to the fire, which eventually caused the cylinder explosion. The police, fire brigade and Indore municipal corporation team immediately reached the spot.

After shutting off the power, they entered the building, where the youth Rohit was found with severe burn injuries. He was immediately rushed to MY Hospital, while his companion sustained minor injuries. Rohit is currently under treatment and the cause of the fire is being investigated.

Fire breaks out in mobile tower on fourth floor

A fire broke out in a mobile tower installed on the fourth floor of a building near Rajiv Gandhi Square on Sunday. The building, where the incident occurred, is surrounded by two hostels housing around 200 students. Upon receiving the information, the fire brigade reached the spot.

However, due to the narrow lanes, the fire brigade has to face significant challenges in reaching the spot. Prima facie, the cause of the fire is said to be short-circuit.

According to the fire brigade, the blaze started on the fourth floor of the building near Rajiv Gandhi Square around 12:30 pm. The fire brigade extinguished the fire within a short time. About 5,000 litres of water was used to douse the flames.

A hostel and a factory are situated in the building while another hostel is located nearby. However, due to timely action, the fire brigade prevented a major tragedy.
