Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The Lokayukta police of Bhopal, Jabalpur and Sagar caught government employees while taking bribe at three different places in the state.
Case 1
Bhopal SP DK Rathore informed that the complainant Kamlesh Chadokhar, resident of Athner in Betul district, had more than one acre of land. Patwari Praful Baraskar demarcated the land but declined to give report unless paid Rs 10,000. During verification, patwari agreed to take Rs 4,000 to provide report. The trap team was formed led by inspector Rajni Tiwari. On Thursday, as soon as the money was handed over at the office of revenue inspector Bhagwari Nagar, the trap team caught him red-handed.
Case 2
In Virharna village under Bhangarh tehsil in Sagar district, the village panchayat secretary Hariram Kushwah demanded Rs 11,000 to clear the bill of a garbage dumping shed contractor. Ranveer Rai filed the complaint to police and after the verification, a trap team was formed led by KPS Bain. On Thursday, as soon as the amount was handed over at the office of Bina janpad panchayat, the trap team caught the secretary red handed.
Case 3
In Khadel village panchayat in Katni district, the panchayat secretary Subhraj Soni demanded bribe of Rs 35,000 to provide NOC for construction. Bablu Yadav was constructing a building on 1084 square metres of land for which he needed NOC. The matter was reported to the Jabalpur Lokayukta police. The SP Sanjay Sahu informed that during the verification the secretary agreed to take Rs 21,000 and Rs 10,000 as first installment. A trap team was formed led by DSP Nitu Tripathi and other ranks. On Thursday, at the office of Khadel village panchayat office, Rs 10,000 was given to panchayat secretary, the trap team caught him.
