Yes, this can happen. A similar case has come to light in Faridabad just two days ago. Here, chemical-laden liquor was being sold in used bottles of branded and expensive liquor. Not only was home delivery of this liquor being done, but huge discounts were also being given on purchase.

This disclosure has been made under the influence of Excise Department and Police. Police raided NIT, Faridabad and caught the rebottling plant of fake liquor. Police have also arrested two people from the spot. The accused have been identified as Charan Singh, resident of NIT, and Nikhil, resident of Madhuvihar, Delhi. According to the police, the accused not only provided home delivery of liquor prepared in their plant but also supplied it on many contracts in Gurugram, Faridabad and Delhi.

From where this liquor was being sold at a price lower than the government rate. According to the police, the Excise Department was getting information about this racket for a long time. It was told that a gang was supplying branded liquor at a price lower than the government rate. The Excise Department conducted the investigation at its own level. It was revealed that rebottling was taking place in branded liquor bottles. Instead of liquor, bottles are being filled with thinner.

Difficult to differentiate between real and fake

Drinking it causes intense intoxication in the beginning, but later this chemical starts damaging the organs inside the body. Since the liquor bottle is duly packed by machine and hologram is also attached. Therefore any customer can get fooled after seeing this. ACP Monica Deshwal said that based on the input received from the Excise Department, the raid was first conducted on the liquor vend located at Neelam Chowk. Two accused were arrested in this. When he was interrogated, this fraud came to light.

The arrested accused told that they find chemicals like thickener in cheap liquor and fill this adulterated liquor in used bottles of branded liquor and supply it in the market. The accused told that he not only sells adulterated liquor on contract but also provides home delivery facility to the lovers by providing online booking facility. The accused told that some scrap dealers are also involved in their business. He buys empty branded liquor bottles from these scrap dealers and then washes them and fills them with adulterated liquor. Similarly, rappers and hologram printers are also included in the network of the accused. The accused pay all these on per bottle basis.
