YouTuber-turned-wrestler Logan Paul has thrown down an unexpected challenge to football legend Lionel Messi, inviting him to settle their off-field dispute in the ring. Since moving to MLS side Inter Miami, Messi has begun expanding his business ventures, including the introduction of ‘Mas+’ last year. However, Paul has accused the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner of copying ‘Prime’s’ concept, alleging that Messi’s brand closely resembles his own.
What is Logan Paul vs Lionel Messi Dispute?
The controversy started after Messi’s launch of the ‘Mas+energy’ drink, which Paul claims is a copy of ‘Prime’, the popular hydration brand he co-owns with KSI.
Paul took legal action against Messi’s brand to protect his company’s trademark. In response, Mas+’s distributor hit back with a lawsuit against Prime in October 2024, accusing them of anti-competitive practices. Paul, who is set to compete at WrestleMania this year, recently addressed the situation again, expressing frustration over the legal counterattack.
Taking to TikTok, the YouTube star said, “You guys copied us, and everyone saw it. Your drinks look exactly like Prime, identical. Then you sued us—that’s not fair. So obviously, we countersued. If you can’t beat the best, you have to be the best, but that’s illegal. That’s our design, and we’re defending ourselves,”.
Logan Paul calls out Lionel Messi for Fight
Paul also issued a bold challenge to Messi, suggesting he would consider dropping the lawsuit if Messi agreed to fight him in the ring. He added,”I swear I would consider dropping the lawsuit, only if… a Logan Paul vs. Messi fight takes place. See you in the ring, bro,”.
Paul already has a bit of boxing background. In the past he has stepped into the square against the likes of KSI, Floyd Mayweather Jr and Dillon Danis. Messi is yet to respond to Logan’s challenge.
