Seven-time Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton has spoken out for the first time since joining Scuderia Ferrari, describing the move as an opportunity to “embrace new challenges” and “drive forward with purpose.” His contract with the Italian team officially began on 1 January, marking a significant new chapter in his illustrious career.

Hamilton shared his thoughts in a reflective post on LinkedIn, stating:
I could not be more excited for the year ahead.

“Moving to Scuderia Ferrari, there’s a lot to reflect on. To anyone considering their next move in 2025: embrace the change. Whether you’re switching industries, learning a new skill, or even just taking on new challenges, remember that reinvention is powerful.

Your next opportunity is always within reach. Here’s to 2025—a year of embracing new opportunities, staying hungry, and driving forward with purpose. Let’s make it one to remember. Andiamo”

He accompanied the post with a childhood photo of himself karting in a red helmet, Ferrari’s iconic color, symbolizing his full-circle journey in motorsport.

Hamilton will join Ferrari on the cusp of his 40th birthday on 7 January, teaming up with Charles Leclerc to form what is widely considered the strongest driver lineup on the 2025 grid.

Ferrari ended the 2024 season with remarkable momentum, narrowly missing out on beating McLaren to the Constructors’ Championship. Leclerc emerged as the standout driver in the latter half of the season, scoring more points than anyone else from the Dutch Grand Prix onwards.

The team’s resurgence has set high expectations for 2025, with team principal Frédéric Vasseur predicting a fierce championship battle involving Ferrari, McLaren, Red Bull, and Mercedes.

Hamilton faces a condensed period to acclimate to Ferrari before the season opener in Melbourne, Australia, on 14–16 March. The team has outlined plans for him to visit their Maranello factory, drive the simulator, and conduct testing sessions in a 2023 car to familiarize himself with Ferrari’s systems and operations.

The 2025 Ferrari challenger will be unveiled on 19 February, just after Formula 1’s season launch in London. Pre-season testing will take place in Bahrain from 26–28 February, with Hamilton and Leclerc sharing driving duties.
