Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A leopard found dead in a well of a field in Sagar. The leopard fell into the well and died due to drowning
When a farmer reached the field on Sunday, he saw the dead body of the leopard lying in the well.
He immediately informed the forest department team and it had been taken out from the well. No injury marks were found on the body of the leopard.
According to information, Deepak Lodhi reached his farm in Amoda village of Parsoria Gram Panchayat on Sunday morning to irrigate the crop. Then, he started the water motor installed in the well and looked inside the well to check whether the motor was working or not. He then saw the body of a leopard lying in the well and informed the forest department.
Upon receiving the information, the forest department team reached the spot. A dog squad team was also being called from Rani Durgavati Tiger Reserve. The dog squad then searched around the spot.
Leopard’s body was sent for post-mortem
Following this, the body of the leopard was taken out of the well with the help of a net. During an investigation, no injury marks were found on the body of the leopard. Prima facie, it seems that the leopard died by falling into the well.
A Panchnama of the body has been prepared and sent to Jabalpur for postmortem after which things become clear. Further investigations are underway.
