Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The Congress is making all out efforts to ensure their plan to lay siege to the State assembly on Monday is successful. The party leaders have given a target to Block Congress Committee presidents to bring at least 15 four-wheelers carrying party workers, said a leader here on Friday. People in know of the matter also said that MLA have been given a separate target to bring at least 2000 party workers from their constituencies, while the district presidents have been instructed to come with at least 1,000 party workers. The five-day Winter Session of Vidhan Sabha is beginning from Monday.
The party president Jitu Patwari and leader of opposition Umang Singhar is also taking it (laying siege to Assembly) as an opportunity to showcase the strength of the opposition in the state. State vice president and organizational in-charge Rajiv Singh informed that the newly appointed district and division in-charges are taking meetings at every block and taking feedback for the preparations. “The BCC president has been verbally instructed to bring at least 15 four-wheelers along with the party supporters to join the demonstration,” he said.
Show of strength
The proposed demonstration is being seen as an opportunity for party leaders to showcase their strength before the higher-ups. The party functionary, who participates in the demonstration with maximum supporters, may be elevated and get a better post in the organization. Those who fail to meet the party’s expectation may be shown the doors. The appointments of DCC and BCC presidents are pending with the state president, the December 16 performance will help the party higher ups to make a decision.
