Comedian Kunal Kamra’s statement: Stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra has once again been involved in controversies. There has been a lot of uproar after his recent remarks about Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Now in the midst of this dispute, Kunal Kamra has issued a statement and clarified her position. In this statement, he has categorically refused to apologize and has questioned the freedom of expression. Along with this, he has also sarcasm on those who are leaking their numbers and threatening them. Kunal Kamra said, “I have said the same thing that Deputy CM Ajit Pawar said about another deputy CM Eknath Shinde.”

Kamra targeted Shinde through a satirical song in her new comedy show ‘Naya Bharat’. In this song, he described the Shiv Sena’s partition and Shinde’s rebellion in 2022 and described him as a ‘traitor’. This comment was not liked by the Shiv Sena workers led by Shinde and vandalized the Habitat Studio located in Khar area of Mumbai on Sunday night, where the show was being held.

I am not afraid of the crowd: Kamra

Kamra questioned the media, questioning the freedom of expression. He said, ‘The media should remember that the freedom of the press in India is at 159th position. I neither afraid of this crowd nor hide from it. I will not wait for this dispute to end by hiding under the bed.

Kamra questioned the same application as the law, saying, “I will cooperate with the police and the court, but will the law apply fairly and equally against those who justified the barbarity by getting angry with ‘jokes’?” And against those untreated members of BMC, who reached Habitat without any notice today and demolished the place from the hammers? ‘

Habitat condemns the study on the studio

He condemned the attack on Habitat Studios, saying, “Entertainment site is just a platform.” Habitat (or any other place) is not responsible for my humor, nor is there any control over what I say or do. “Due to the words of a comedian, it is as absurd as a political party to attack a place as it is absurd as to overturn a truck filled with tomatoes because you did not like the served butter chicken.” Kamra jokingly said about her next place, “Perhaps I will choose an Elphinstone Bridge or another structure for my next show, which needs to be demolished quickly.”

Making fun of political circus is not an illegal thing.

Along with this, he warned political leaders that the political leaders who are threatening to teach me a lesson should understand that the right to freedom of expression is not only for the flattery of powerful and rich people. Making fun of a powerful public person does not change the nature of my rights. As far as I know, making fun of our leaders and political circuses is not illegal.
