Kabaddi Spardha 2025, organized by the Mumbai Upanagar Kabaddi Association, witnessed an exciting two-day tournament at Golden Maidan, Borivali East, on 8th and 9th March.

The competition featured intense battles between some of the best local kabaddi teams, displaying exceptional skill, strength, and strategy.

The tournament kicked off with Janta Raja Krida Mandal securing an 18-10 victory over Kokan Ratna Krida Mandal in Match 1. However, in Match 2, they suffered a tough defeat against Shree Siddhivinayak Krida Mandal, losing 18-48.

Match 3 saw a nail-biting contest where Shri Krishna Krida Mandal edged past Shambhaji Krida Mandal with a 37-36 win. Meanwhile, Jagmata Krida Mandal dominated Gaodevi Krida Mandal in Match 4, winning 27-11.

As the competition intensified, Sparsh Krida Mandal triumphed over Sayambhu Krida Mandal with a 31-20 victory in Match 5. Shree Siddhivinayak Krida Mandal continued their winning streak by defeating Jagmata Krida Mandal 44-13 in Match 6.

The grand finale was a thrilling showdown between Sparsh Krida Mandal and Shri Krishna Krida Mandal. Both teams fought fiercely, but Sparsh Krida Mandal emerged victorious with a 27-23 win, claiming the championship title.

The event successfully showcased local kabaddi talent and promoted the sport with great enthusiasm. Fans witnessed electrifying performances, and the tournament concluded with a grand celebration, honoring the winners and all participating teams.

Delhi Premier League

In an intense showdown, Royal Rangers FC secured a commanding 3-1 victory over Friends United FC, showcasing their attacking prowess and tactical discipline.

Despite a closely contested battle in terms of possession—Friends United FC holding 47% and Royal Rangers FC edging with 53%—it was the latter who made their chances count. Both teams created opportunities, with Friends United FC registering 11 shots compared to Royal Rangers FC’s 12, but clinical finishing made the difference.

Though Friends United managed five shots on target against Royal Rangers’ four, their opponents were more efficient in front of goal. The match remained competitive with minimal fouls (one each), but Friends United FC received two yellow cards, highlighting their frustration. With better execution on set pieces, as indicated by Royal Rangers’ four corners to Friends United’s two, they maintained control and sealed a well-earned victory.

Mumbai Premier League

ICL-Mumbai secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Kenkre FC in an intense match.

Controlling 55% possession, ICL-Mumbai dominated the attacking front with 13 shots on target, compared to Kenkre FC’s 9. Both teams played a disciplined game with no fouls or cards recorded throughout the match.

While Kenkre FC put up a strong fight, ICL-Mumbai capitalized on their chances, making the most of their 6 corner kicks to seal the win. Their attacking prowess and solid gameplay ensured a crucial victory in this closely contested battle.
