Seema Haider, once a viral sensation across Indian media, has resurfaced online after her lawyer publicly chastised a reporter for referring to her by her Pakistani surname. The heated exchange, caught on camera, has gone viral and reignited the debate around Seema’s controversial past and her current status in India.

Seema, who had crossed into India illegally via Nepal to live with Sachin Meena, her lover from Uttar Pradesh whom she met while playing PUBG, became an internet celebrity last year. After multiple rounds of interrogation and nationwide media coverage, her story faded from the spotlight—until now.

Have a look at the viral clip here:

The video, roughly 16 seconds long, shows Seema’s lawyer AP Singh losing his temper after a female reporter referred to her as “Seema Haider.” The lawyer can be heard snapping, “You will not call her Haider, call her Seema Meena, not Seema Haider.”

When the reporter tries to interject that she was only quoting others, Singh raises his voice further and insists, “Don’t listen to what to others are calling her — call her Seema Meena.” The clip ends with Singh stating loudly, “I am listening,” as the reporter tries to speak again.

The video surfaced amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, which left 26 people dead. In its aftermath, the Indian government moved to expel Pakistani nationals on short-term visas. While Seema is not on an official list, the renewed scrutiny has led netizens to question her continued stay in India.

Reactions to the video have poured in online, with users divided over whether Seema, who is now a mother to a child with Sachin, should be seen as a security concern or simply a woman who crossed borders for love.
