Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Divisional Commissioner Sanjeev Singh on Friday has ordered a ban on the use of laser beams and high-intensity lights at marriage gardens and hotels near Raja Bhoj Airport to enhance air safety.

He emphasized strict enforcement through regular inspections and public awareness campaigns. The directive came during a meeting of the airfield environment management committee held at the airport auditorium. The session was chaired by Singh and attended by ADM Ankur Meshram, Airport Director Ramji Awasthi, members of the Airports Authority of India, and other officials.

During the meeting, the Airport Director showcased current facilities and operations via a presentation. Singh also mandated that all construction in urban and rural Bhopal must obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Indian Aviation Authority and the Municipal Corporation.

To address safety concerns, Singh instructed the installation of CCTV cameras and signage at unauthorized parking zones on the airport approach road. Additionally, he called for a crackdown on unlicensed meat and fish vendors and stressed the importance of cleanliness and rule compliance at licensed shops.

The directives aim to improve both aviation safety and the surrounding environment near the airport.
