The Bihar government has taken a big step to make the registry process of land digital and transparent. Now the purchase and sale of land in the state will be completely online and paperless, which will provide relief to the common people from registry’s mess and corruption. Under this new system, people will not need to repeatedly visit the Registry Court.
Online registry started in these districts of Bihar
Under the new system, online registry process has started in Ara, Sheikhpura, Patna (Fatuha) and Motihari (Kesariya) in Bihar. This facility will be implemented in the entire state in the coming days.
What will people benefit from paperless registry?
There will be many big benefits by making the registry of land completely online and paperless in Bihar:
Registry process will be easy – Now people will be able to register their land sitting at home.
Bribery and decrease in corruption – The role of brokers in government offices will end.

Paperless registry will be implemented in entire Bihar from 1 April 2025
From 1 April 2025, the paperless registry process will be started in all 137 registry offices of Bihar. This will make the purchase and sale of land in the entire state accessible and transparent.
Katib and stamp vendors will also be benefited by online registry
After this new change, the question was arising whether the employment of Katib (accountant) and stamp vendors would be affected or not? The government has also solved this. Despite the closure of the manual work, Katib and Stamp Vendor will now be able to work in a digital manner by joining the online process. This will not only keep their livelihood but they will also become part of the digital age.
Online registry will rein in corruption
In Bihar, corruption and brokers have been dominated in cases related to land registry. But due to this new online system, the role of middlemen will end. Now people will be able to complete their registry process themselves, which will increase transparency in government offices and reduce corruption.
The area of seller will be reduced immediately, Jamabandi will be updated
Under the new rules, the area of the land of the seller will immediately decrease and the ownership of the buyer will be ready. From this:
Fake will stop-it will be impossible to sell the same land repeatedly.
The land disputes will be reduced – the buyer will get legally recognized documents immediately.
Map and land records will be updated-Complete information of land will be stored digitally.
