Former Bihar chief minister and RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on Tuesday took a jibe at Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, saying, “Nayan sekne ja rahe hain” (he is going to ogle at women).
The RJD leader used the derisive words for the Bihar CM while speaking to the media this morning.
Responding to a question about the Congress party’s objection to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s reported statement expressing her desire to lead the INDIA Bloc, Lalu said, “Congress’s objection means nothing. We will support Mamata… Mamata Banerjee should be given the leadership of the INDIA Bloc. We will form the government again in 2025.”
Earlier today, in a social media post, former Bihar deputy chief minister and Lalu Yadav’s younger son, Tejashwi Yadav, hit out at Nitish Kumar for allegedly allocating over Rs 225 crores from the state treasury for self-promotion.
Taking to X on Tuesday, Tejashwi said, “₹2,25,78,00,000—225 crores and 78 lakh rupees! Yes, you heard it right, and this Cabinet note confirms it. In just 15 days of travel, Bihar’s treasury is set to lose billions as Chief Minister Nitish Kumar recklessly spends on his self-promotion spree.”
Accusing Nitish Kumar of misusing public money for personal gain, he added, “After plunging Bihar into two decades of rampant unemployment, mass migration, deadly inflation, relentless crime, and severe corruption, is it justified for Nitish Kumar to waste ₹2,25,78,00,000—money belonging to the poor people of this backward state—on his electoral picnic?”
“The plight of Jeevika women, hundreds of collapsed bridges due to corruption, uncontrollable crime, runaway inflation, record-breaking unemployment, administrative chaos, systemic injustice and bribery at police stations and blocks, thousands of deaths caused by poisonous liquor, the failure of prohibition, massive fraud in smart meter installations, institutional corruption, and bureaucracy—no amount of travel can now conceal the scale of this devastation.
There’s nothing substantial being done on the ground for students or women, yet billions of rupees are being squandered on officials in the name of propaganda. Nitish Kumar is about to spend ₹2,25,78,00,000 on a ‘dialogue tour’ with zero meaningful issues to address,” he concluded.
