New Delhi – Rashtriya Janata Dal i.e. RJD President Lalu Prasad Yadav and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar are considered to be well-known players in Indian politics. But you will be surprised to know that there was such a time too. When both these leaders used to go round outside the Prime Minister’s office wearing new kurta pyjamas to become ministers for the first time at the Centre.

This time two big leaders of Bihar have taken the responsibility of uniting all the opposition parties against the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections to be held in the year 2024. The name of the first is Nitish Kumar and the second is Lalu Prasad Yadav. Under this, a meeting of 17 opposition parties was held in Patna on 23 June. In which 15 parties unitedly announced the beginning of fighting against the ruling party.

This is not the first time that Lalu Yadav and Nitish Kumar have united the opposition, earlier in the year 1988 also, the pair of Lalu and Nitish united the opposition against the then ruling party Congress, after which the Congress lost power. . However, during this time Lalu Nitish’s dream of becoming Union Minister for the first time was definitely shattered.

Recently, Rashtriya Janata Dal President Lalu Yadav discussed Nitish Kumar through the eyes of intimate friends, a book written on Nitish Kumar’s public life at Patna’s Gyan Bhavan. On the occasion of the release of the book, Lalu Yadav recalled his political journey with Nitish Kumar and mentioned the political developments after BP Singh became the Prime Minister. He told how Nitesh Kumar could not become Union Minister for the first time after getting new clothes stitched.

Lalu Yadav has also mentioned that sentence in his biography Raisina of Gopalganj. When Lalu Yadav and Nitish Kumar used to roam outside the Prime Minister’s office wearing new kurta pyjamas to become ministers for the first time in the central government.

In fact, in 1988, anti-Congress politics took a vocal form in the country in which Lalu Yadav played an important role. Vishwanath Pratap Singh i.e. ABP Singh rebelled against the Congress government led by Rajiv Gandhi. In which he got the support of the then Chief Minister of Haryana, Chaudhary Devilal, then Lalu Yadav united some parties against the Congress and formed the Janata Dal.
