Bhopal/Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Police have arrested a 20-year-old woman and a 37-year-old suspended jail guard for drug smuggling. A total of 20.30 grams of brown sugar, 10.22 grams of MD drugs, and a Honda Amaze car have been seized from the duo. The drugs, valued at around Rs 10 lakh, were being transported from Rajasthan to Indore.
The Crime Branch arrested them on Friday evening after receiving a tip-off from an informer. The accused, who were using a car marked with ‘Police,’ had been smuggling drugs into the city for distribution. The duo is in police custody, and interrogation of both is underway.
According to information, the apprehended have been identified as 20-year-old Shruti Nishad and 37-year-old suspended jail guard Deepak Yadav. According to sources, Shruti, known as ‘Lady Don,’ was involved in both drug supply and dancing at high-profile parties. She is also a drug addict, with prior cases of assault and Arms Act violations.
Deepak Yadav, a jail guard, had been posted in various jails, including Alirajpur and Indore Central Jail, before his suspension over a domestic violence case filed by his wife. Police are now investigating if Yadav has connections to a drug supply network within the jail.
Modus Operandi
The duo used a very specific way to smuggle drugs into Indore city from Rajasthan. After his suspension from the jail department, Deepak Yadav moved in with his aunt in the Banganga area. He began taking drugs and soon became an addict, which led him to cross paths with Shruti Nishad, the notorious ‘Lady Don.’ Not only did they consume the drugs themselves, but they also distributed them in Indore.
To avoid detection, Deepak used his police ID card at toll booths and during police checks, ensuring that no one stopped him. His vehicle, marked with ‘Police,’ further helped him evade suspicion. This cover allowed him to smuggle drugs from Rajasthan freely, without facing any obstacles.
