Comedian Kunal Kamra found himself in controversy after commenting on Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde during a recent stand-up comedy show. Kamra mocked Shinde as a “traitor” using the song “Dil To Pagal Hai,” which led to widespread backlash. After the video of his show went viral, Shiv Sena (Shinde) workers ransacked the office of The Unicontinental Mumbai in Khar West over the comedian’s remarks.
Shiv Sena party workers gathered at Khar Police Station to file a complaint against Kamra. Additionally, other party workers approached the MIDC Police Station to lodge a complaint. MLA Murji Patel of Shiv Sena (Shinde) was present at the police station with the workers.
Speaking to FPJ, Patel stated, “Kunal Kamra made very low remarks about DyCM Eknath Shinde. We arrived at the police station and demanded that an FIR be filed against him. If Kamra does not apologize within two days, we will smear black color on his face.”
Kamra’s remarks have drawn strong criticism from the Shiv Sena, which has demanded his arrest and action by Mumbai Police. The party has also warned of legal action against the comedian if he fails to apologize.
