Mumbai-Stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra did not appear before the Mumbai Police on Saturday in connection with the case filed against him for allegedly making ‘traitors’ remarks against Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. A police officer told.

It is noteworthy that Kamra did not appear on the summons of the police for the third time. The Khar police had registered a case against Kamra for making derogatory remarks against Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde during a show based on the complaint of Shiv Sena MLA Murji Patel.

Kamra was shooting a video criticizing Shinde for partition in the Shiv Sena. Later on the night of 23 March, party workers vandalized the hotel studio at the venue.

In this case, the Mumbai Police issued summons to Kamra for the third time and asked to appear on 5 April. Earlier this week, a team of Khar police went to Kamra’s residence in Mahim. This action was taken after ignoring another summons of the police.

The Madras High Court has granted Kamra to interim anticipatory bail till 7 April. He is originally from Tamil Nadu. Three FIRs lodged against comedians in Nashik Rural, Jalgaon, Nashik (Nandgaon) have been transferred to Khar police station.
