In view of the upcoming Kulgaon Badlapur municipal council elections, the competition for the post of the council president has peaked between Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde) and the BJP, with NCP (Ajit Pawar) jumping into the fray as well. After the victory in the assembly elections, BJP MLA Kisan Kathore has indicated that his party has started an attempt to gain complete power in the municipal council.

Thane district’s general secretary and former corporAll parties of the Mahayuti alliance are vying for the post in Kulgaon Badlapur council ——— ator Sambhaji Shinde has also claimed that the next council president will be from the BJP. In response, Shiv Sena city chief Vaman Mhatre claimed that the Shiv Sena will be the number one party.

Both the parties have fought all the elections separately in Kulgaon-Badlapur except in the 1995 general election. Mhatre warned that the Shiv Sena is capable of fighting the polls on its own, and if the BJP wants to go solo then it should do so to understand which party is supported by voters.

Meanwhile, NCP state secretary, Captain Ashish Damle, said that the BJP can maintain the Mahayuti balance by giving the Shiv Sena a chance in Ambernath and the NCP in Badlapur.
