Robin Uthappa on Virat Kohli: Former Indian cricketer Robin Uthappa is currently targeting Virat Kohli. Recently he had said that it was because of him (Virat Kohli) that all-rounder Yuvraj Singh’s career ended and now he has said something similar for Ambati Rayudu. Before the 2019 World Cup, it was decided that Rayudu would play at number 4, but when the team for the tournament was announced, everyone was surprised.
Vijay Shankar was included in the team as the third player in place of Ambati Rayudu. Regarding this, Robin Uthappa has made a shocking revelation that Kohli did not like Rayudu, due to which he was not selected for the 2019 World Cup. Then the World Cup jersey and cricket kit reached his home.
What did Robin Uthappa say?
Robin Uthappa revealed in an interview that, ‘If he (Virat Kohli) did not like any player, then that player was dropped from the team. Rayudu is the biggest example of this. Everyone has their own preference. I agree but once a player reaches his goal the doors cannot be closed for him. His World Cup clothes, kit bag etc. reached Rayudu’s house. Some player might be thinking that he is going to play the World Cup. But then you closed the door on him. I don’t think this was right.
Rayudu explained
Surprisingly, even when Shikhar Dhawan was injured during the tournament, Rayudu was not called to play. A similar situation had arisen even after Vijay Shankar was injured. Meanwhile, Rayudu also expressed his feelings on social media. Later during an interview, Rayudu revealed that, ‘The coordination between me and former chief selector MSK Prasad was not good.’ Prasad was the chief selector during the 2019 World Cup.
