In the medically advanced world that we live in today, it is easier to deal with appearance and body image issues by consuming drugs and injections that will show faster results. Not only do people want faster results, especially during their weight loss journey, but also expect their body to react naturally to all of it. Actor Ram Kapoor went through a huge transformation that led to netizens doubting whether he was on ozempic. He shut those assumptions and explained how only hard work and long hours in the gym can help achieve the desired body goal.
Ram Kapoor’s weight loss transformation
Actor Ram Kapoor recently shocked his fans with a dramatic 55 kg weight loss transformation, sharing his progress photos on social media. However, his transformation sparked trolling, with many netizens speculating that he underwent surgery or used Ozempic to shed the weight.
On Wednesday (February 5), the Bade Ache Lagte Hai actor addressed these claims through a video on his official Instagram account, firmly dismissing any speculation about surgery or weight loss drugs. In the clip, he is seen flexing his muscles in a sleeveless t-shirt, emphasising that his transformation is purely the result of “hard work.”
“I have no best body. The point is, this kind of transformation requires hard work and long, long hours… no shortcuts, no surgery, no Ozempic. That only does weight loss, not this. Right? Within four to six months, I am going to get a rock solid six-pack with blocks. That has to be done the hard way. Get it! But anyone who has done Ozempic or surgery, so what? Good for you all,” he added.
What happens to your body after a drastic, unnatural weight loss?
Just how weight gain happens over a period of time, weight loss is also a gradual process. If you do not stay consistent and look for ways that will help you loose weight faster, you sure can achieve that but it will have consequences on your body, physically and mentally.
People follow diets like atkins, ketogenic and follow intermittent fasting to see quicker results. Here’s what it does it your body apart from the weight loss you see. According to the National Institutes Of Health, “Whether weight loss occurs rapidly or gradually over time, it can be linked to various challenges, including macronutrient and micronutrient deficiencies, electrolyte imbalances, metabolic shifts, psychological effects, bone density changes, and even death.”
Risks involved in rapid weight loss
Muscle Loss: Rapid weight loss often results in muscle loss rather than fat reduction. When the body is deprived of essential nutrients, it starts breaking down muscle tissue for energy, leading to weakness and a slower metabolism.
Nutritional Deficiencies: Extreme calorie restriction or cutting out entire food groups can deprive the body of essential vitamins and minerals, leading to problems like hair loss, weakened immunity, and brittle bones.
Slower Metabolism: When you drastically cut calories, your body adapts by slowing down your metabolism to conserve energy. This makes it harder to maintain weight loss and often results in weight regain once normal eating resumes.
Gallstones and Digestive Issues: Losing weight too quickly can increase the risk of gallstones, which can be extremely painful. Additionally, crash dieting can lead to digestive issues such as bloating, constipation, and poor nutrient absorption.
Heart Problems: Rapid weight loss can strain the heart by causing electrolyte imbalances, dehydration, and irregular heartbeats. In severe cases, it can increase the risk of heart disease.
Drastic weight loss may offer quick results, but it comes with serious health risks that can harm your body in the long run. Prioritising consistency, balanced nutrition, and sustainable habits is the key to achieving and maintaining a healthy weight. Remember, the journey to fitness is a marathon, not a sprint!
