The controversy surrounding the death of South Korean actress Kim Sae-ron continues to get complicated and the latest twist in the tale is the accusations made by her alleged ‘ex-boyfriend’ against her secret husband and family.
According to Koreaboo, the ex-boyfriend, on condition of anonymity, spoke to THE FACT and revealed that Sae-ron got married in early 2025 after meeting her Korean-American husband in November 2024. However, he was allegedly abusive towards her, both physically and mentally, due to which the actress sought solace in her ex-boyfriend.
But Sae-ron’s husband found out about her secret camaraderie with her ex, and he even threatened the ex-boyfriend. “Stop getting in touch with her again and don’t even think about seeing her again. This is my final warning. I know you met up with her on Christmas Eve and Christmas. I’m holding back, even though I want to kill you, so I’m blocking you. Just please, f*** off you useless piece of s***,” a message sent by Sae-ron’s husband to her ex-boyfriend read.
Sae-ron reportedly confessed to her ex-boyfriend that she got involved with the other man (whom she married later) as she felt lonely in the relationship and wanted someone to listen to her. However, the other man threatened to leak her chats, hacked her social media, cursed and hit her.
“I was so scared, that’s why I couldn’t break up with him. I was always afraid that you would be hurt because of me, so I said we should break up. And all this happened. You were the most precious person to me and I didn’t want him talking sh*t to you. I didn’t want you to get hurt. But I haven’t been able to push you away because I’m that greedy… and now we’re here. I got us into this situation and left you in pain and with scars. But I was sincere every moment I was with you. My feelings for you were genuine and you were the most precious love to me,” Sae-ron reportedly texted her ex-boyfriend post her secret wedding with her husband.
The ex-boyfriend reportedly also claimd that Sae-ron had attempted self-harm back in November 2024 and had to undergo emergency surgery, but no one from her family showed up.
He added that the family was now using the name of actor Kim Soo Hyun to grab eyeballs and that the Queen of Tears star had nothing to do with Sae-ron’s death.
“The fact that none of them knew about her getting married to the New York man proves how little communication there was between them. They hardly cared when she was alive. But now that she’s gone, they’re digging up a relationship from years ago with a famous actor? There has to be a ulterior motive behind this,” he said.
Sae-ron died by suicide in her Seoul apartment on February 16, 2025. Post her death, her alleged aunt claimed that she was under deep distress due to her former relationship with Kim Soo Hyun.
