Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has made a big claim during the ongoing war with Russia. More than 3,000 North Korean soldiers fighting for Russian forces in Russia’s Kursk region have been killed or wounded, Zelensky said in a statement. According to a report, Russia sent about 12,000 North Korean soldiers to Ukraine in early August.

Zelensky expressed serious concern over the increasing military cooperation between Russia and North Korea. He said that this could lead to exchange of modern war technology and military experience. He warned that this cooperation between North Korea and Russia could lead to the supply of additional troops and military equipment. As a result, Ukraine will need to respond strongly. Zelensky also said that increased cooperation between Russia and North Korea could threaten destabilization not only on the Korean border, but throughout the Korean Peninsula and surrounding regions. Zelensky said his assessment was based on data collected by Ukrainian intelligence.
