Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Congress MLA Lakhan Ghangoriya alleged that Vice Chancellor of Rani Durgavati University, Jabalpur, Professor Rajesh Kumar Verma does not have the requisite eligibility for the post and neither he has desired educational qualification.
He raised the aforesaid issue during question hour in the assembly on Thursday. Higher Education Minister Inder Singh Parmar said that when Verma had become professor, at that time, he had fulfilled all the qualifications.
By citing UGC guidelines for appointment of a person to VC post, he defended the appointment of Verma.
Bhagat’s Question Altered in Assembly, Alleges MLA
MLA Madhu Bhagat said that he had asked the state-level question but it was limited till his assembly constituency Paraswada.
He demanded probe in this regard. He said that he had asked the road related state-level question. He alleged that bitumen scam of Rs 419 crore has taken place in the state and efforts are being made to hide it.
Panchayat Minister Prahlad Patel said that he is having details of the entire state but he had given the answer related to the question asked in the assembly. He however said that payment of road contractors has been put on hold until completion of the probe.
Labour Officer Accused of Being Anti-Labour, Owns Petrol Pumps: Chore
MLA Vijaynath Chore said that employment is not being given to local people in more than 100 factories of Sausar assembly constituency. Meanwhile, the local labour officer of his area is anti-labour and is posted at the same post for the last 20 years and owns two petrol pumps. Minister Prahlad Singh Patel said that out of 101 industrial units, 64 units are having employees from Chhindwara and Pandurna. In 100 industrial units, more than 50% labour are from Chhindwara and Pandurna. On the question of removal of the labour officer, he said that as per the new transfer policy, no one can remain posted at the same place for a long period and certainly the local labour officer will be removed.
