The Design Aptitude Test (DAT) 2025 preliminary exam will be conducted by the National Institute of Design (NID) tomorrow, January 5, 2025, in order to admit students to undergraduate and graduate design programs that are provided by the design institutes.
Part I and Part II of the NID DAT 2024 exam will be conducted from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Several testing locations across India will deliver the NID DAT 2025 preliminary exam in a single shift using pen and paper. Candidates can take the NID DAT Mains 2025 exam if they pass the preliminary exam.

Section 1 (MCQs):
Number of Questions: 27
Marks per Question:
– Questions 1 to 15: 1 mark each
– Questions 16 to 26: 2 marks each

Section 2 (Subjective Type):
– Number of Questions: 4
– Marks per Question: 15 marks each (Questions 28 to 31)
– Maximum Marks for Section 2: 60
Guidlines:
When taking the exam, candidates must have a printed copy of their NID DAT admit card with them.
Without it, admission to the testing location will be refused.
They have till 8 AM to arrive at the NID 2024 exam location. Half an hour before the exam starts, at 9:30 AM, the exam centre gates will close.
Under no circumstances will late entry be allowed.
They need to bring a valid photo ID proof in addition to their NID DAT admission card.
The ID will not be accepted in digital or photocopy form.
In addition, they can bring an OMR sheet, scissors, glue stick, a blue or black ballpoint pen (for filling it out), colours (such oil pastels, colour pencils, sketch pens, etc.), an eraser, sharpeners, a ruler, etc.
They are prohibited from carrying cell phones, watches of any kind, handbags, calculators, electronic devices, white fluid, papers, notes, books, and other items.
After entering the NID DAT exam room, they have to find their designated seat.
Refrain from using any unfair tactics in the exam room; doing so will result in disqualification.
