Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Neither action has been taken against the organisers of the Halloween party nor has any progress been made in renovating the historic KEM School building at MGM Medical College, even after two months of the controversial event.

The incident, which drew nationwide criticism, remains unresolved months after the unauthorised event turned the 145-year-old landmark into a haunted house on October 14. Jain Social Group Elegant hosted the party, featuring eerie decor, loud music, and slogans like “O Stree Kal Aana” painted in red, which still mar the building’s walls and gate.

Despite claims from the college administration that permission was granted for a 20-member visit, around 200 attendees had participated, dressed in ghostly attire and took the dinner at the dean’s bungalow.

Protests from doctors, alumni groups, and political parties, including Congress, have demanded accountability and the restoration of the building. Congress workers also staged a demonstration at the Commissioner’s office, emphasising the need for swift action. Yet, neither a formal investigation nor clean-up efforts have been initiated. –Dr Sanjay Londhe, MGM Alumni Association president

“The organisers must issue a public apology for tarnishing this historical site. They were directed by the saint Shri Praman Sagarji to repent but they didn’t.”
