The Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) has launched a water disconnection drive in the KDMC region, cutting off several illegal pipeline connections that were supplying unauthorized water to buffalo stables in the Bail Bazaar area of Kalyan.

According to officials, a team led by Anita Pardeshi, City Engineer of KDMC, carried out the operation under the instructions of KDMC Chief Dr. Indu Rani Jakhar. On Thursday, KDMC officials discovered 65 illegal pipeline connections tapped from the main water pipeline. The connections had been made by drilling holes and using welding techniques to divert water to buffalo stables in Kalyan.

The operation was conducted in the presence of Ashok Ghode, Executive Engineer, Devendra Eknade, Senior Engineer, and a team of seven to eight officials from KDMC’s water department.

Civic officials stated that the water supply department will continue to monitor the area to prevent further illegal connections to the main water pipeline.
