Mumbai: The Department of Mass Media of Kishinchand Chellaram (KC) College, HSNC University, Mumbai, is set to return with the 22nd edition of its annual intercollegiate media festival, Blitzkrieg, on February 1 and February 2 at the college premises in Churchgate.
The Department of Mass Media of KC College is also hosting its second edition of the International Film Festival on January 31. This year, the film festival is celebrating the rich legacy of the legendary filmmaker Shyam Benegal by opening the festival with a screening of one of his short films. Vice Chancellor of HSNC University Mumbai Prof Dr. Hemlata K Bagla will inaugurate the film festival, followed by screening of the opening film.
With over 200+ entries from around the world for its open category competition, the film festival will also feature selected short films and compelling documentaries. The International Film Festival promises an immersive cinematic experience.
Dr. Shalini R. Sinha, Vice Principal of KC College and Head of the Department of Mass Media department, said, “Blitzkrieg along with the International Film Festival is a beautiful festival that will be an amalgamation of all that mass media has to offer.”
The festival is expected to host about 2,500-4,000 attendees and participation from over 15 colleges across Mumbai. Blitzkrieg media festival brings together 21 competitions centred around the theme, “Threads of Deception”, where participants will dive into the world of popular conspiracy theories, secrets, and lies, through several media-centric competitions.
Surya Gune, convenor of Blitzkrieg 2025, said, “The organising team has an array of exciting and unique events and activities lined up for both participants and attendees.”
The festival will offer a diverse range of events, discussions, games, food, shopping, and more. Some interesting competitions include “Snakey Scoop”, an investigative journalism contest. “Blitz ki Gully Mein”, a street dance competition, and “Myths in Motions”, a fashion show event, among many other similarly exciting contests.
Prominent personalities like Shahid Mallya, Ayaz Ahmed, Aijaz Khan, among others, will judge the festival’s event.
