Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif found herself in the middle of an unexpected social media storm after fans noticed she didn’t mention Ananya Panday in her initial review of Kesari Chapter 2. On Saturday (April 19), Katrina praised the film and lead actors Akshay Kumar and R Madhavan, however, she skipped tagging or acknowledging her performance.
This did not go unnoticed by the internet and Reddit users were quick to share screenshots of Katrina’s Instagram story. A section of users also trolled her for not mentioning Ananya and stated that she performed well in Kesari 2.
Katrina deleted the story after backlash and shared a fresh one, this time with the mention of Ananya.
In her now-deleted review, Katrina wrote, “An untold story told so beautifully by @karanstyagi @bindraamritpal @anandntiwari so proud of you… @akshaykumar @actormaddy were just terrific.” The actress also tagged the official Instagram handles of the producers.

Reacting to the earlier post of Katrina, a user wrote on Reddit, “No matter how she has performed ..she should have tagged her lol consider Katrina has done the same kind of performance/roles in every movies if she got replaced it would not have affected much.”
Another comment read, “An actor who can’t act well trying to shade another actor is so funny to me.”
“Considering the kind of roles she has done in the past, she wasn’t that bad. Her character was of an apprentice. I think she played her part well. Not extraordinarily, but okay. But that, I believe, was the point,” read another comment.
Criticising Katrina, another Reddit user wrote, “It’s hilarious that it’s coming from Kitto, who hasn’t delivered a single decent performance in any movie herself.”
Meanwhile, Kesari 2 is receiving rave reviews from critics and the audience. The film, which shows the lesser-known story of what happened after the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre, hit the big screens on April 18 and on the first day, it earned Rs 7.5 crore.
The film enjoyed decent occupancy in theatres from Friday morning itself, considering the Good Friday holiday, and the audience have now termed the film a “must watch spectacle”.
Kesari Chapter 2 stars Akshay Kumar as advocate C Sankaran Nair, who had sued the British government and had accused the Crown of ‘genocide’ post the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.
