The Delhi -based Pakistan High Commission has issued a visa to 154 Indian pilgrims to Pakistan, so that they will be able to visit the Sri Katasraj Temple located in Punjab province. According to media reports, under the Pakistan-India Religious Place Yatra Protocol 1974, thousands of Indian pilgrims visit Pakistan every year to participate in various religious festivals. The purpose of this protocol is to facilitate citizens of both countries to travel to their religious places.
Acting High Commissioner Saad Ahmed Varte greeted the pilgrims for their visit.
The Pakistan High Commission said in an official statement that the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi has issued a visa to 154 pilgrims to visit the Holy Sri Katasraj Temple located in Chakwal district from 24 February to 2 March.
This temple complex is a group of many ancient temples.
Acting High Commissioner Saad Ahmed Varte wished pilgrims for his visit and hoped that it would be spiritually rich and satisfied. He also said that the Government of Pakistan will continue to facilitate such visits under its policy of promoting religious harmony and mutual understanding.
