The special court of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has given a historic verdict in the case of Chandan Gupta, who was killed during the Tiranga Yatra on 26 January 2018 in Kasganj, Uttar Pradesh. On January 2, 2025, the Lucknow-based court had convicted 28 accused. The next day, on 3 January 2025, the court sentenced all the convicts to life imprisonment (life imprisonment).

  5. Khalid Parvez, Faizan, Imran, Sakir, Mohammad Aamir Rafi
  6. Munajir (connected through video conferencing from Kasganj jail)
  7. Salim (surrendered in court)

26 convicts lodged in Lucknow jail were sentenced through video conferencing.

“We got justice. We are satisfied with this decision. We are grateful to the court and the judge. The lawyers also supported us fully in this difficult time.”
