Actor Kartik Aaryan is all set to star in Anurag Basu’s next, which also marks the Bollywood debut of south sensation Sreeleela. The two are currently shooting for the highly-anticipated film in Siliguri, and several photos from the sets of the film have now gone viral.
In the photos, Kartik can be seen sporting his rugged look with overgrown hair and beard, which has been the talk of the town of late. In one of the photos, he can be seen riding a motorcycle with Sreeleela behind him, and in another picture, the actor can be spotted with a wound on his hand.
Photos also showed the actors being welcomed at a hotel and them enjoying tea with the others on sets.
While the title of the film is yet to be announced, reports have it that the film is a romantic musical. The first look of the film was dropped by the makers on February 15, and in it, Kartik was seen playing a heartbroken singer, while Sreeleela played his love interest.
Netizens drew comparison between the film and Aditya Roy Kapur-Shraddha Kapoor’s Aashiqui 2, however, the makers clarified that the film is not related to the Aashiqui franchise.
Earlier, Triptii Dimri was supposed to star opposite Kartik in the film, however, she was replaced by Sreeleela due to reasons unknown. When questioned at an event, Basu had sternly stated, “She is still my best friend, I really like her as an actress. You should ask her too what happened.”
Meanwhile, the Kartik-starrer, which is produced by Bhushan Kumar under the T-Series banner, is slated to release on Diwali this year. It is set to clash with Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Thama.
