In a tragic turn of events, Shobitha Shivanna, a popular Kannada actress was found dead at her residence in Hyderabad, with police suspecting suicide. Reportedly, she was found hanging to the ceiling by the police. The body has been shifted to Gandhi Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
The news was confirmed by ANI, “Rangareddy, Telangana: Kannada actress Shobhitha Shivanna found dead in apartment. She allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her residence in Kondapur, within the limits of PS Gachibowli. The police have registered a case and the deceased’s body has been shifted to Gandhi Hospital for post-mortem: Inspector, PS Gachibowli,” read the tweet.
The reason behind her drastic step remain unclear. According to the latest reports, her body may be brought to Bengaluru for the final rites.
Who was Shobitha Shivanna?
Shobitha hailed from Sakleshpur in Karnataka’s Hassan district, and starred in more than 12 hit serials, including Galipata, Mangala Gowri, Kogile, Krishna Rukmini, Deepavu Ninnade Gaaliyu Ninnade, and Ammavru, among others.
Her journey began as a television anchor, and she soon transitioned into acting.
After getting married, Shobitha shifted to Hyderabad. Reportedly, the actress, who had stayed away from acting, was all set to make a comeback.
Actress Geeta Bharti Bhatt mourned Shobitha’s death and shared unseen photos with her on Instagram. She wrote, “RIP Shobitha avre. You shouldn’t have left us like this. Your smile, your love for life and your presence in itself will be terribly missed!”
