It is said that there was a state of serpents named Pundarik. This state was very rich and happy. Apsaras, Gandharva and Kinnar lived in this state. There, a beautiful Apsara named Lalita and her husband Lalit lived there. Lalit Nag was singing in the court and entertaining everyone with his dance. Both loved each other very much. Once King Pundarik ordered Lalit to sing and dance. While dancing and singing, Lalit began to remember his wife Lalita, which inspired him to dance and sing. A snake god named Karkotak was present in that meeting. Who told Nagraj named Pundarik about Lalita’s wrongdoings. Enraged by this, King Pundarik cursed Lalit with a demon arrow.

After this, Lalit turned into a very ugly looking demon. His nymph wife Lalita was very sad. Lalita started looking for ways to get rid of her husband. Then a sage asked Lalita to observe the fast of Kamada Ekadashi. Lalita observed Ekadashi fast in the sage’s ashram. And she gave full advantage of this fast to her husband. Due to the effect of fasting, the fine demon was freed from the vagina and became a beautiful singing Gandharva.
