Kailash mansarovar yatra 2025: application process, rules, expenses and necessary information

News India Live, Digital Desk: Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2025: Kailash Mansarovar Yatra starts again after five years. This journey holds special significance in Hinduism because it is believed that Kailash Mansarovar is the abode of Lord Shiva. The process of online application is required for this journey.

When is the journey starting?

According to the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, the last date for online application for the visit is on 13 May 2025. The first journey will begin on 30 June 2025 from New Delhi to Lipulekh. Every year around 900 Indian pilgrims get a chance to travel.

Who can apply?

  • Pilgrims should be an Indian citizen.
  • The minimum validity of the passport should be six months till 1 September.
  • The applicant is at least 18 and maximum 70 years till 1 January.
  • A person’s Body Mass Index should be 25 or less.
  • Medical fitness is mandatory.

Who cannot apply?

  • Any foreign national.
  • OCI card holders cannot apply.

Important things related to application process:

  • Apply only on the official website for Kailash Mansarovar Yatra.
  • Fill the application completely and carefully, the incomplete application will not be accepted.
  • Upload photos in JPG format.
  • A maximum of two applications will be accepted from an account.
  • Give details according to the passport.

Selection Process:

The pilgrims for the journey are selected through a draw by computer. Information about batch and route will be sent to the registered email and mobile number of the applicant. You can also get information on helpline number 011-230888133. Medical examination will be mandatory at the Heart and Lung Institute in Delhi before the journey starts. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the pilgrimage starts from Delhi and returns to the group itself.

Travel expenses:

  • Fee for traveling via Sikkim: 2 lakh 83 thousand rupees per passenger.
  • Fee for traveling via Uttarakhand: 1 lakh 74 thousand rupees per passenger.
