Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Renowned singer and Padma Shri awardee Kailash Kher said here on Thursday that music had the power to change hearts and minds. The singer, who was in the city for a brief stop-over before proceeding to Maharashtra for a concert, said while interacting with the media, “Music is not just entertainment. It has the power to change hearts and minds. People are slowly realising its transformative nature.”

Kher was all praise for the city’s rich cultural heritage and its deep connection with values and traditions. “The land of Indore and the entire state are a repository of culture and traditions,” he said.

He discussed his new song, ‘Mahakumbh Sangam’ which he said was trending across various platforms and sang some lines of his new track, ‘Chalo Kumbh Chale’, emphasising the spiritual importance of the Mahakumbh pilgrimage.

“The waters of Ganga and Yamuna charge one with energy. Taking a dip in this sacred water purifies body, mind, and soul. True liberation is achieved when your mind becomes focused, leading you towards righteous actions. This Mahakumbh is unique, as it is taking place after 144 years. Millions are taking holy dips daily, celebrating our traditions and culture,” he said. The singer later left for Maharashtra by road.
