South Korean singer Aoora, also known as Park Min-jun, continues to captivate Indian audiences with his unique cross-cultural musical journey. The K-pop star, who rose to fame in India after appearing in Bigg Boss 17 and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa season 11, recently hinted at an exciting new project that promises to blend K-pop with Tamil music.

During an exclusive interaction with FPJ at the Zee Cafe’s “Hello Seoul” festival at Phoenix Marketcity in Kurla, Mumbai, Aoora opened up about his upcoming plans. Known for his soulful voice, electrifying performances, and Indo-Korean remixes, the 39-year-old singer dropped a tantalising clue about his next track. “Up next project… some K-Pop and Tamil music, we remix together. Coming soon!” Aoora teased, leaving fans eager for more details.

In addition to his Tamil-K-Pop remix, Aoora expressed his desire to collaborate with Indian music maestro Pritam Chakraborty. “I want to collaborate with Pritam,” he said, sparking excitement about the possibility of a record-breaking Indo-Korean musical partnership in the future.

Aoora’s passion for Indian music

Aoora’s passion for Indian music has been evident through his past works, where he has successfully blended K-Pop with beloved Indian tracks. His recent release, Thi Thi Thara, a viral Kerala song, showcased not just his musical prowess but also his dedication—he even learnt Malayalam to perfect the track.

His popular Indo-Korean remixes include Holi Re Rasiya, a vibrant Holi song with Hindi and English lyrics released in 2024, and the Jimmy Jimmy K-Pop version, a 2023 hit that remains one of his personal favourites. Another memorable remix is his version of Yeh Shaam Mastani, which resonated with fans who appreciate his seamless fusion of cultures.

From K-pop idol to Indian reality TV sensation

Before embarking on his solo career, Aoora was part of the K-Pop group AA (Double A). Since then, he has successfully carved a niche for himself in the Indian music scene. His popularity skyrocketed after he became the first Korean participant on India’s iconic reality show Bigg Boss 17.

His charismatic personality and flair for entertainment further won hearts when he appeared on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa season 11 in January 2024, showcasing his dance skills and love for Indian culture.
