Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) head coach Justin Langer hilariously picked up and answered a reporter’s phone that rang in the middle of his press conference after the IPL 2025 game against the Mumbai Indians. In a video shared by IPL’s social media handle, Langer politely answered the journalist’s phone by saying he was in the middle of a presser.

The 54-year-old was a happy man after the Super Giants held their nerve to pull off a 12-run victory over the Mumbai Indians. After fifties from Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram propelled the Super Giants to 203/8, the bowlers kept their nerves during key moments to restrict the five-time champions to 191/5 in 20 overs.

In the video shared on social media, Langer picked up the phone and said:

“Who is Ma? Who Mum’s ringing? Do you want me to answer? Hello. Mama, it’s 12:08. I’m at a press conference.”

“I don’t think there’s been a bowler in India who’s bowled faster than Mayank Yadav” – Justin Langer

Langer also issued a significant update on fast bowler Mayank Yadav’s return, claiming that the speedster should has come up to 90-95% of fitness. The West Australian said, as quoted by ESPN Cricinfo:

“What I do know is he’s working very hard at the NCA, and I saw some video of him bowling yesterday [Thursday] and he was bowling at about 90 to 95%. So Mayank’s up and running, which is really great for Indian cricket, for IPL. We saw the impact he had last year. I don’t think there’s been a bowler in India who’s bowled faster than Mayank Yadav. That’s why there’s so much talk about him.”
