Mandsaur (Madhya Pradesh): Mandsaur unit of the Madhya Pradesh Shramjeevi Patrakar Sangh protested with 21 demands for journalists’ rights at Gandhi Square in Mandsaur on Labour Day.
Led by district president Hemant Jain and state joint secretary Dr Preetipal Singh Rana, journalists carrying placards demanded implementation of Journalist Protection Act and Ayushman Bharat benefits for all media professionals.
Key demands included free land for Journalist Bhawan at district headquarters, ending preference requirements for Samman Nidhi and extending benefits to journalists’ wives after their deaths.
Following the demonstration, the group submitted a memorandum addressed to Chief Minister Mohan Yadav through collector Aditi Garg.
The protest was part of a statewide action organised by Provincial President Shalabh Bhadauria across Madhya Pradesh. Journalists chanted slogans supporting media unity during the event.
Senior journalist Mahavir Prakash Agarwal, former Press Club president Brajesh Joshi and others were present. After the demonstration, attendees observed two minutes of silence honouring victims of recent Pahalgam attack.
MLA Jain calls for mass awareness about campaign
Mandsaur (Madhya Pradesh): Shivna purification campaign was launched on Thursday, and hundreds of locals joined hands under the leadership of MLA Vipin Jain to clean the river. The campaign will continue from 7 am to 9 am every day.
People performed shramdaan near Shri Pashupatinath temple to clean the river. With everyone’s efforts, around five trolleys of water hyacinth and debris were removed.

MLA Jain said that Shivna River is Mandsaur’s main source of drinking water. It is the duty and responsibility of every citizen to maintain its cleanliness. He urged everyone to spread awareness about the campaign so that more people join the social welfare work.
