Mumbai: A-32-year-old woman has accused Bollywood actor Sharad Kapoor, known for his roles in films such as Tamanna, Dastak, Trishakti, Josh, and Iski Topi Uske Sar, of allegedly attempting to sexually harass her. The woman alleged that the actor invited her to his house under the pretext of discussing professional work but attempted to sexually assault her.
She has filed a complaint with the Khar police, who have registered a case under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita on November 27 and initiated an investigation. Sharad Kapoor has not yet issued any statement on the matter.
The victim stated that she first came in contact with Sharad Kapoor through Facebook, where they began interacting. The two later connected via video calls, during which Sharad expressed his interest in meeting her to discuss a shooting project. He then shared his location and asked her to visit his office in Khar. However, upon arrival, she discovered it was not an office but his residence.
The woman alleged that upon reaching Sharad’s house, located on the third floor of a building in Khar, he moved from the kitchen to the bedroom and later called her to join him there. When she reached the bedroom door, she saw Sharad sitting unclothed. Shocked, she asked him to dress and discuss matters appropriately.
Further she alleges that he then attempted to hug her inappropriately, holding her from behind. She managed to push him away and flee from the scene.
