Girl rescued, safe now

The incident from the village fair of the Kheri district has surfaced online. It shows the girl hanging on to an iron rod of the tall structure. It recorded the tension spread among visitors after they spotted the girl slipping and dangling on the rod.

She was soon rescued when the wheel was rotated back to the original position and brought to rest. Sub District Magistrate Rajiv Nigam told the media that the girl is safe.

Giant wheel didn’t have permission to operate

It was reported that the operators did not have the permission to run the giant wheel at the fair. Noting this aspect and the incident that took place involving the teen, an investigation is set to take place to figure out how the swing was made functional despite not having proper permission to do so.

Similar incident in UP

The incident took place nearly 160 km away from UP’s Kannauj region, where a similar incident was reported earlier this year. This November, another teen experienced a tragic ride during her visit to a local fair. A 14-year-old girl’s hair got entangled in the rods of the Ferris wheel, which ripped off her scalp and left her with severe injuries.
