A plan to create a new ring road to reduce the increasing traffic pressure in Jodhpur city and to speed up industrial development is being considered. This proposed ring road may be 10 to 15 kilometers ahead of the existing ring road, making transport in the outer areas of the city smooth.

Discussion on new ring road intensified

This new ring road was discussed during the recent Chief Minister’s visit. However, its exact limit has not been fixed yet and the process of landing it on the ground is yet to work. Currently, Shatabdi Circle, Dali Bai Circle, DPS Circle and Keru, Karu, Karu, started from Ring Road Dangiawas in Jodhpur.

When it was first proposed, it was designed for the purpose of extracting traffic from the outskirts of the city. But now, on the other hand, settlements have also settled, so that the need for a new ring road is felt so that the city’s traffic can be better diverted.

Two major industrial hubs will be interlinked

The purpose of this ring road is also to connect Balotra to Jodhpur and Roht-Kankani industrial areas. With this, logistics and transports will be able to be smooth, as well as to promote economic development by connecting the major industrial hub to each other.

Possible expansion: limit can increase to Mogra-Kankani and Borranada

The boundary of the existing ring road has now come to a large extent within the city. Now it is being considered connecting it to Mogra or Kankani, which is about 20 to 30 km from the urban center. On the other hand, it can also be expanded even further to Borranada as a new transport hub is likely to be developed here.

At a glance, the current ring road of Jodhpur

  • Length of current ring road: 75 km
  • Time to complete construction: 7 years
  • Was hypled: 15 years ago
  • City expansion: 3-5 km ahead of existing ring road
  • New proposed ring road: 10 kilometers ahead of existing ring road

This new ring road will balance the traffic system of Jodhpur as well as strengthen the industrial development and logistics sector. A detailed action plan is expected to be prepared soon on the government’s plan.
