In Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan violated the ceasefire on the 11th consecutive night. On Sunday night, Pakistani soldiers once again started firing on the Line of Control (LoC) without provocation. The Indian Army responded with full force. These continuous violations being carried out by Pakistan have created a new challenge for the security forces and have threatened the safety of the common people.

 

Pakistan violated ceasefire near Kupwara, Uri and Akhnoor in Jammu and Kashmir

Earlier, on the night of 30 April and 1 May, Pakistan had violated the ceasefire near Kupwara, Uri and Akhnoor in Jammu and Kashmir. During these violations, Pakistan firing with small weapons, which was immediately responded to by the Indian Army.

India-Pakistan talks on ceasefire violation

On April 30, there was a conversation on the hotline between the Director General of Military Operations of India and Pakistan, in which India gave a strong warning to Pakistan over ceasefire violations. However, Pakistan again violated the ceasefire by firing small weapons in Kupwara, Baramulla, Rajouri, Mendhar, Nowshera, Sunderbani and Akhnoor on the night of 3-4 May.

Pakistan is also firing on the international border.

Till now, the violation from Pakistan was limited to the Line of Control (LoC), but now there have been reports of firing along the international border in Pariygal sector of Jammu, which has further worsened the situation. For example, Pakistan has been continuously taking out actions, which have been strongly replied by the security forces so far amidst possible military action by India after the Pahalgam terror attack.
