Srinagar: An important update has come to light from Jammu and Kashmir amidst the continuation of the investigation into the Pahalgam terror attack. A major terrorist conspiracy has once again been detected in Jammu and Kashmir. Intelligence agencies have received information about the possibility of attack on union territory jails. The important thing is that the security forces have also found a terrorist base in Poonch, from where the IED (improvised explosive device) has been recovered in the Tiffin box. At present, nothing has been officially said about this.
According to media reports, it has been reported from sources that there may be a terrorist attack on the jails of Jammu and Kashmir. In view of this information, security in the jail area has been increased. There is also speculation that terrorists may target Kot Balwal Jail and Srinagar Central Jail in Jammu. It is also being said that these jails can be targeted, as these jails are imprisoned from big terrorists to sleeper cell members.
CISF Director General reviews
Based on intelligence information, the security of jails is being reviewed and steps are being taken to prevent any incident. For this, the CISF DG held a meeting with top security officers in Srinagar and reviewed the situation. In 2023, the jails of Jammu and Kashmir were handed over to CISF from CRPF.
IED seized from Surankot
On the other hand, the Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police have succeeded in busting a terrorist hideout in Surankot in Poonch in a joint operation. During this operation, the army got IEDs in three tiffin boxes and two iron buckets.
More terrorists present in Basaron Valley!
NIA sources have received information that there have been indications of terrorists involved in the Pahalgam attack being hidden and active in South Kashmir. Reliable information is that more terrorists are hiding in this region. Sources also suspect that other terrorists were present at some distance during the attack in Basaron and they would have tried to save the terrorists by providing cover fire.
