Srinagar: Firing between army personnel and terrorists on Saturday morning in the high areas of Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir. According to officials, a comprehensive search operation is being carried out to search for the terrorists who ran after the initial attack.
Suspicious activities were reported
Security sources said that a vigilant sentry posted in a temporary army camp in Batod Panchayat located and started firing at around 1:20 pm and started firing. Subsequently, the terrorists retaliated, causing intermittent firing between the two sides for about half an hour.
Terrorists ran into the forest
Although there were no casualties in this encounter, the officials believe that three terrorists have fled in the nearby forest. The army has started a siege and search operation to locate these terrorists.
Campaign of security forces continues
On Friday too, security forces conducted a search operation after the presence of suspects in Dhanu Parol and Sachhair forests. At present, an alert has been issued in the area, which includes CRPF, Police, SOG and Army personnel. However, there are difficulties in the search operation due to fog in the forest.
Security measures for Republic Day
This week, ADGP Anand Jain along with senior police officers visited the border areas and check posts of the district and directed to strengthen the security system. Security has been tightened in view of Republic Day and VVIP movement. Before January 26, strict security arrangements have been made in Jammu and Kashmir.
