Jaipur: Days after a merchant navy officer was murdered in Meerut, a similar case surfaced from Rajasthan’s Jaipur, where a woman allegedly murdered her husband with the help of her lover. The 42-year-old woman, Gopali Devi, and her lover Deendayal Kushwaha, after allegedly killing Dhanna Lal Saini, carried his body on a bike.

The incident was caught on camera and its video went viral on social media. Both accused burnt the body to destroy the evidence. They were arrested by the police.

Saini was a vegetable seller. Devi was in a relationship with Kushwaha for the past five years, reported AAJ Tak. The victim had a doubt about his wife having relationship with Kushwaha. On March 15, Devi’s husband reached Kushwaha’s shop, Shyam fashion’ to know the truth. However, he was shocked to see Devi with Kushwaha at the shop.

As per the report, the accused took Saini to the top floor and then allegedly hit him with an iron road. After Saini fainted, the accused then strangled him to death with a rope.

In a bid to destroy the evidence, Devi and her lover put Saini’s body in a big plastic sack and carried it on a bike to a forest near Bhairuji temple on Ring Road. They then set the body on fire. Kushwaha and Devi carrying Saini’s body on a bike was captured on CCTV.

On March 16, the police found Saini’s half-burnt body in the forest. The police swung into action and arrested both accused. During the question, Devi confessed to her crime.

The incident surfaced days after the merchant navy officer Saurabh Rajput was allegedly murdered by his wife Muskan Rastogi and her lover Sahil Shukla. Rajput had come to India from the United Kingdom in February this year. He was allegedly killed on March 4. Both the accused were arrested.
