Jaipur: Jaipur Police has arrested a woman who after getting married used to extort money from rich people. The accused woman has so far extorted Rs 1.21 crore from three such people and has sent two of them to jail as well.
The Jaipur police has arrested the woman from Uttarakhand on Sunday in a case filed by a renowned jeweler of the city. The woman identified as Seema Agarwal of Dehradun had married a renowned jeweler of Jaipur through a matrimonial site and fled away with jewelry and cash worth Rs 36.50 lakh and filed a case against the husband and his family in Dehradun. .
DCP (West) of Jaipur police Amit Kumar said – a Jeweler of the city had registered the case on July 29, 2023 against the accused woman who contacted the victim through a matrimonial site. The jeweler had gone to Dehradun to meet her and both got married in February 2023.
In July 2023, she silently disappeared after collecting jewelry worth Rs 30 lakh, Rs 6.50 lakh cash and valuables. Later she filled a case of unnatural sex against husband and rape against the family members and started blackmailing them.
A special team of police station was formed and sent to Uttarakhand. The police team raided her house in Uttarakhand and arrested on Sunday.
The Investigation revealed that In 2013 Seema married the son of an Agra resident businessman and few days later filed a case of torture against him and extorted Rs 75 lakh from the businessman.
In a similar case the accused woman married a software engineer of Gurugram in the year 2017 and lodged a case of rape against the software engineer and his cousin.
DCP said that the accused woman used to find a widower, divorced businessman on the marriage app or matrimonial site and after getting married she would file a case against her husband for unnatural relations and for rape and molestation against the male members of the family to extort money.
