The women’s singles and doubles finals will be played on Saturday in the ITF Women’s Tennis Tournament being run in collaboration with SAG at the Ace Tennis Academy. In women’s singles, Vaishnavi Adekar and Denmark’s Ileana Jamshidi will fight for the singles trophy.
In women’s doubles, the pair of Vaishnavi Adkar and Pooja Ingle will face Japan’s pair of Kobayashi and Nagata. In the first semi-final of women’s singles, title contender and second seed Jeel Desai lost to Vaishnavi 6-0, 6-2. In the second semi-final, top seed Yashina of Russia was defeated by Danish player Jamshidi 3-6, 6-3, 4-6 after a struggle of two hours and 19 minutes. In doubles, Kobayashi and Nagata defeated Niture and Sadiq 6-2, 6-1. After this, the pair of Pooja and Adekar entered the final by defeating Maya Raothi and Lakshmi Prabha 4-6, 6-1, 10-4.
