Actor Sonu Sood, who is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Fateh, alongside Jacqueline Fernandez, recently revealed how some actors use publicity tactics to garner attention. He also shared that stars’ bodyguards are trained to create chaos in public places for they grab the attention of the people.
Speaking to Humans of Bombay, Sonu said, “Bodyguards and entourages are often trained to create a scene, especially at places like airports. They make noise and stir up curiosity. So, even those minding their own business, turn and see who’s coming. That’s how they get attention.” Further, he shared that if the same actor were to walk alone, they could easily pass through with only a few fans approaching for photos. However, by creating chaos, they ensure they are noticed by everyone.
Sonu recalled an incident where, as he was leaving the gym, he noticed a car pull up nearby. A bodyguard stepped out and, despite there being no crowd, began shouting, ‘Step back!’ to grab the public’s attention.
“The actor then followed and entered the building amidst this. The truth is, if you simply walk into a crowd, most people won’t bother you. I have bodyguards too, but I always instruct them to avoid pushing anyone. Even when walking in a chain, I tell them try not to push anyone. The public is generally well-behaved and harmless. However, maximum people have a problem that why they don’t do anything. So, they make public active with these tricks. That’s the reality,” said Sood.
On the work front, Fateh marks Sonu’s debut as a director. The film also features Vijay Raaz, and Naseeruddin Shah, among others.
Fateh is set to be theatrically released on January 10, 2025.
