Kolkata: ISKCON Kolkata vice president Radharaman Das on Monday had welcomed arrested monk Chinmoy Krishna Das’ lawyer Rabindra Ghosh firmness to fight the case.

“I am thankful to Rabindra Ghosh for being firm in taking this case up. I hope that the verdict comes in our favour. Whatever is happening in Bangladesh is really disturbing,” said Radharaman Das.

Talking to the media, Das said that even if he is slapped with cases he will stand and question in favour of the arrested monk on January 2.

“We all will die one day. Even if I die, I will defend this case. The interim-government of Bangladesh is afraid of monk Chinmoy Krishna Das. Wherever Chinmoy Prabhu had held rallies, people in large numbers had gathered. I even got news that the interim-government had instructed the hotel owners not to give rooms to the monks,” said Ghosh.

Speaking further about the atrocities on minorities, Ghosh mentioned, “Bangladesh is the motherland for several Hindus and other minorities. We have fought for its Liberation. Why will we leave our country? Lands of Hindus are being grabbed and are being subjected to constant torture. This should be stopped.”

Notably, Ghosh is presently in Barrackpore near Kolkata for treatment. Ghosh’s son Rahul Ghosh, who has been residing in Barrackpore in North 24 Parganas for several years expressed concern about his father’s safety and urged him to stay back in India for some time.

“My parents came to India on Sunday evening. He came for treatment. He often visits India,” said Rahul.
