The Gujarat Titans on Thursday handed Royal Challengers Bangalore their first loss of the season by after beating them by 8 wickets in their backyard. It was a complete performance by the former IPL champions led by fast bowler Mohammed Siraj and a fine half-century by Jos Buttler. However, the win was being overshadowed by a post from Titans skipper Shubman Gill after the match

The GT skipper posted a cryptic message on X ,has raised questions about whether there is any tension brewing between Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli or whether Gill took a dig at RCB fans?.

The last three words of Gill’s post, “not the noise,” seemed to hint at something deeper, with many fans interpreting it as a reference to the loud RCB crowd at Chinnaswamy or Kohli’s passionate reaction to Gill’s wicket. However, it’s important to note that Kohli is known for his animated celebrations and it’s not unusual for him to show intense emotion when a key wicket falls.

Fans reaction to Shubman Gill’s post

Despite the speculation, there doesn’t appear to be any real tension between Gill and Kohli. Both players have always shown respect for each other, with Kohli once praising Gill’s talent and even acknowledging that Gill is more gifted than he was at a young age. After the IPL 2025 match, Kohli and Gill shared a hug, demonstrating their strong bond.

Shubman Gill’s thought on bowlers performance

Speaking during the post match Gill credited his bowlers for restricting RCB to a below-par score. He said,”Restricting the other team to 170, we always thought we were in the game. It is surprising, the wicket sometimes plays really good and sometimes there is something in it for the seamers with the new ball. There was something in it for the fast bowlers in the first 7-8 overs (tonight) and it was stopping. We thought if we did not give them early wickets, we would be right in the game.”
